Le Divorce by Diane Johnson--a must read!

Diane Johnson is an American author who spends half the year living in Paris and the other half in San Francisco. She writes wickedly funny novels about Americans in France. I adore the way her characters bungle their way through cultural and linguistic snafus.

Diane Johnson's favorite foods are popcorn and foie gras. Her favorite beverage is champagne. She had the great fortune to have worked with Stanley Kubrick on writing  the screen adaptation for Stephen King's The Shining! 

Her three novels, Le Divorce, Le Marriage, and L'Affaire are not to be missed!

Le Divorce was also made into a film. The film was mediocre but worth a rent, the novel is fantastic.
