Zebra - Ukraine!

As I was finishing up dinner, two glamorous girls sat at the table next to me. Perhaps I throw the word glamorous out there too easily, you could feel that they were glamour girls; dressed down for a mountain excursion. They ordered vodka and spoke Russian.

I asked them, in English, what sort of vodka was good to drink in Transylvania and, well, next thing I knew, I was drinking Souika with them into the wee hours of the night.

What fun we had!! They are Ukrainian pop stars. Their band is called Zebra. They are hugely famous in the Ukraine and in Russia. We watched all their music videos on the iphone. Here is one of their clips.

They were lovely girls and we thoroughly enjoyed their company, drinking, playing fishing on their iphone, talking politics, music, learning Russian swear words and Ukrainian drinking songs. Ah, it was magic and surreal, a great start to my journey.
