SARRA CANNON'S PEACHVILLE HIGH DEMONS (SERIES)
CHOSEN BY ADRIANNE JAMES

What compelled you to begin this series?

Honestly, the reason I picked it up to begin with was that it had a good description and it was free. The allure of witches and demons, mixed in high school drama and romance, to me is an amazing combo. I am very selective when buying books because I am a regular at my local library and seriously appreciate anything free. However, once I finished the first book, I had to buy the second, and the third, and the fourth... you get my point.

Why are the titles in the Peachville High Demons series your favourite books?

The Demons series is my favorite for a lot of reasons. I think the most important part though, is the fact that the plot is really well developed. Nothing comes easy to these characters. They have to fight for everything and nothing is a quick fix. There are twists and turns and obstacles. I like to compare it to Charmed, not for the similarities - witches and demons and creatures - but for its differences. Charmed was great for the supernatural stuff, but the end of every episode was too easy. Grab hands, chant a little, and POOF! Evil is vanquished. Demons is not like that. Not by a long shot.

Is there anything outside of the content of the books that attracts you to the series?

Outside of the story itself lies the story of the author. Her journey is inspirational. She is a self published author who has worked her butt off and made it work. She has sold over 100K books in two years time. Two years. There are many, many traditional published authors who can't even say that. She is down to earth, even with her success, and she is more than happy to help another author out. Just look at her website (www.sarracannon.com) and you will find plenty of articles on how to self publish, how to market yourself, and words of encouragement. She is a  new mother and she took the time to be just that, but was worried that her fans would need an apology from her for being human. We didn't, of course, but she still pushed herself and got the final book in the series out. She is dedicated to her work, her fans, and her family. She manages to balance it all and that makes me cheer for her with every rise in book rankings and every good review she receives.

Share your favourite quotation from the text.

"They're poisonous, Harper. They get into your system and change you from the inside." His expression smoothed over suddenly, like it was too much for him to explain. He pushed off the wall. "Don't let them get to you."
