So close....

I told a good American friend of mine the other day, "Yeah, I think I'm gonna pop over to Transylvania in a couple of weeks." She was like, "What?" I said, "Well, yeah, it's kind of like you going to Oregan."

It may sound absurd to Americans and other people that I am just going to "pop" over to another country where they speak another language and have a whole other culture. To someone living in Europe, it really is like popping down to Las Vegas, Key West or southern California.

I respect and appreciate my life so much here in France. And there isn't a day that goes by where I don't thank my lucky stars that I can just pop on over to some exotic place bursting with new things to discover, new people to meet.
